John M Castro FFA, FIPA, ATT (Fellow)
John started his education in London and received his training with a Chartered Certified practice in Central London, helping to serve a variety of clients throughout the Capital and beyond.
He moved to the Midlands when he met his wife in 1977. Here he continued with his studies while working for a local accountancy firm. During this time he obtained his professional qualifications. In 1986 he started the practice, now known as JMC Accountants and Tax Advisers Ltd. John prides himself on working closely with clients, helping them grow with tax planning and business advice tailored to their needs.
As a founder member of the practice he is proud of the growth of the practice and appreciates the loyalty shown to him by his staff who have all been instrumental in the firms progress over the years.
John is married with two grown up children, Natalie and Richard. He has a keen interest in football and occasionally plays golf.
Natalie J Fellows FCCA, FMAAT
Natalie joined the practice after leaving college where she obtained A level accounts and law. Whilst at college she also qualified as an accounting technician (AAT). Natalie chose to train in house and continued her studies qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2003.
She is an organised individual that provides the glue that keeps the practice together. This includes making sure that our IT is second to non and keeping us and our clients up to date with major new changes such as Auto-Enrolment and Making Tax Digital.
Natalie supports a number of taxation and accountancy clients and deals with share restructuring and other statutory matters. She is highly qualified and boasts a wealth of experience.
Natalie is married with a daughter.
Richard J Castro FMAAT
Richard joined the firm in 2003 while working in the leisure industry. Alongside this he continued to study and qualified in 2007.
Richard is an active member of the team and enjoys visiting clients whenever the need arises. He has an energetic approach to his work and is appreciated for his straight talking and honest feedback to clients. Richard manages his own portfolio of clients and prides himself on his 1 to 1 approach. He has a confident understanding of the challenges facing small businesses and is ready to support them.
Richard is married with three children. He has a passion for boxing and football.
Andrew has a wealth of experience having worked in accountancy for over 40 years. He has been a valued member of the JMC team since 1996. Andrew has continued to help the practice grow and brings an eye to detail in all of the work he does. His forensic approach is a true strength and appreciated by the range of clients that he serves.
Sarah Duncan FCCA MAAT
Sarah joined the practice in 1999 having completed her A levels and AAT qualifications. She went on to successfully complete all of her exams, qualifying in 2004, and is now a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Sarah is a valued member of the team who provides both personal and corporate clients with a range of services. She particularly focuses on personal tax clients with property rental income and is the firms go to person for this area of work along with capital gain aspects associated with buy to let properties.
Sarah prides herself on being organised and efficient. Her attention to detail and professional approach make her an asset to the firm and highly rated by her clients.
David Thompson FMAAT, ATT
David joined our team in July 2004.
David showed an interest in accountancy at an early age and took A level accounts after finishing his GCSE’s. After passing his A levels he decided to further his knowledge in accounts by taking the AAT qualification, which he completed and qualified in 2006.To enhance his taxation knowledge he continued with his education and qualified as a taxation technician in 2017.David has vast experience in dealing with pubs and clubs and especially where the VAT aspects of these businesses are complicated.
David also helps to service a wider range of clients. He is well informed when it comes to payroll matters, which these days, with auto enrolment and RTI being penalty driven, is more important than ever.
David enjoys a healthy work/life balance and has an avid passion for the NBA. He also used to play basketball to a good standard until Aug 2016 and still enjoys playing Basketball socially from time to time.
Jemma Husselbee ACCA, MAAT
Jemma first came to the practice for work experience and then joined the company in 2006 as an AAT trainee, she qualified in 2009. She continued with her studies while training in house, and successfully completed all of her exams to become a full member of the ACCA in 2017.
Jemma helps service a wide range of clients including the retail and construction industries. She is the youngest member of the team and with her keen approach to work is popular with both staff and clients.
Jemma is married with a son.
Our Support Team
Our core team of accountants are ably supported by a range of staff that make up the JMC team. These staff help us to provide a high level of service and a personal touch to all of our clients.
This includes the valued work of Jean in accounts, Jade and Nikki in admin, and James, Georgia and Katey who are our trainee accountants in payroll and book keeping. Finally we can’t forget Tracey who keeps our offices spic and span!
